Program Manager / Project Manager  Automotive Tier 1 component manufacture

Our client is a tier 1 supplier of components, assemblies and systems for the automotive industry. They specialise in interior and exterior vehicle trim, encompassing pressings, electronics and printed circuitry.

Due to the recent award of a major new vehicle program, they now require an experienced Program Manager / Program Engineer to join their UK team to facilitate introduction of the different product elements of the vehicle platform.

This will be a key facilitating role between the company, suppliers and the client. You will manage project gateways from nomination through to industrialisation, being central to the launch of new production programs.

The ideal candidate will come from an automotive OE, Tier 1 or Tier 2 background, ideally within trim or assembled components. You will have a clear commercial understanding of the demands of delivering complex automotive programs to the major OE manufacturers. This includes financial understanding, technical know-how and people / team management skills. Past experience of commercialising manufacturing projects, or introducing new components into production, will be a real advantage.
