We are delighted to be retained by a well known employer to recruit a Product Manager for their Marketing team as the present incumbent has just been promoted internally.
Our client is a European group, headquartered in France, with a solid distribution base for their products in the UK from a head office in Worcestershire. Their multi product offering is broad and covers a range of Original Equipment replacement parts for the independent automotive aftermarket: Clutches, brakes, lighting, wiping, electronics, etc.
The classic route to market is distribution based through a range of entry points.
The Product Manager will be responsible for a specific product range, ensuring a suitable product offering and pricing structure is maintained to keep abreast of the competition. Working closely with sales, you will be responsible for range management, development of the product catalogue, and all promotional activity. There will also be a high level of analytical detail in the role, managing product performance metrics, sales analysis and product pricing.
The ideal candidate will come from a classical marketing background, with a track record gained preferably in automotive aftermarket parts, although someone with experience from within a branded, distribution based product environment will also be considered.
The role offers diverse opportunities for real ownership and autonomy, working in a gregarious, pleasant team environment, with excellent opportunities for advancement on a European level.

The ideal geographic locations are the M3/M4 corridor in the South, and the Manchester / Leeds area in the North. However, this will be flexible for a candidate with the right background, experience and team fit.
The ideal candidate for either role must have a track record of sales gained within the automotive aftermarket. Key account management skills are highly desirable, and past experience of managing buying group or motor factor business will be ideal.
The base salaries on offer are substantial and backed up with a strong bonus scheme, as well as a company car and the normal additional benefits package. The expected OTE is in the £50k salary bracket.

As part of this growth and product diversification strategy, they now require product marketing specialists to join their 20-strong marketing team in the following positions:
The skills required are common to distribution based or FMCG products and candidates with a traditional marketing background are welcome to apply, although of course candidates with previous experience of the automotive industry are particularly desirable. Salaries range between £30k and £40k, together with a sound benefits package that includes a company car.
